Bill Tai is a highly accomplished venture capitalist, athlete, and adjunct professor with over 34 years of relevant experience. Currently, he serves as the Chairman of the Board and Co-Founder/Founding Investor at Treasure Data, a data pipeline and repository company that enables the development of AI and machine learning applications. Bill has been the chief cheerleader of the company since its creation and played a pivotal role in its acquisition by Softbank's ARM Corporation, which became the largest acquisition in ARM's history. Under his leadership, Treasure Data invented the technology www.fluentd.org, which is now used by over 20,000 unique organizations, including all the FAANGs. As of the acquisition, the company's customers were uploading over 7 trillion rows of data monthly to its big data infrastructure, from which they could distill knowledge from aggregated, heterogeneous 'wide-area' data sources. Before joining Treasure Data, Bill served as a Board Member at Société L'Avenir, a forum for world-class thought leaders touching all aspects of society, government, business, and sustainability. He was also an Angel/Seed Investor at Zoom Video Communications, where he provided seed capital to what has become the clear leader in the video meeting and collaboration segment. Bill holds a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School, where he specialized in Finance and Economics, and a Doctor of Philosophy in International Economics from Curtin University. He is well-versed in various technologies, including Android, infra, AI, Big Data, and ML.
