Bjorn Leffler is a highly experienced Technical Director, currently working at Google as a global subject matter expert on compute, network, storage, and large-scale deployments. With over 18 years of relevant experience, Bjorn has a long track record of providing leadership and guidance across teams and stakeholders. As a trusted advisor for a long list of customers in various industries, including financial services, media & entertainment, internet companies, biotech, and oil & gas, Bjorn specializes in designing and reviewing new systems, suggesting improvements, and proactively detecting problems before they happen. He works alongside engineering teams until projects are successfully deployed, both internally at Google and externally to customers. Bjorn's current role as Technical Director, Cloud CTO Office, involves representing the Google Cloud CTO to the largest and most strategic customers worldwide. He works with CXOs and decision-makers to ensure that their cloud infrastructure is scalable, high-performing, and cost-effective. An important aspect of his job is to partner with customers to accelerate their business by extracting more value out of existing data sets or integrating machine learning into existing computer systems. Prior to joining Google, Bjorn worked as a Senior Software Developer at Animal Logic, where he rewrote the software that controls and orchestrates the distributed compute (render) farm. He also worked as a Software Engineer at Pixar. Bjorn holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) and a Master of Science in Computer Science from KTH Royal Institute of Technology. His tech stack includes expertise in Senior Software Engineering, Software Engineering, Machine Learning, and Infrastructure.
