Budavarapu Mahesh is an experienced Staff Engineer at Radisys with expertise in LTE/LTE-CA/5G Protocol Stack (PHY, MAC, RRM, SON) at UE and eNodeB/gNodeB side. With a strong background in wireless communication, information theory, probability, and random processes, he has worked on open-source projects such as NS-3, lte-sim-5, GNU radio, Mininet, Docker, and OpenStack. Mahesh has a proven track record in building applications on Azure, GCP, AWS, and Nutanix, and has researched and developed AI/ML algorithms applied to telecommunications. He has also realized machine learning inference applications on edge platforms and has architecture knowledge on ORAN, network slicing, orchestration, RAN virtualization, V2X, IoT, SDN, and NFV. With more than 9 years of relevant experience, Mahesh has performed 3GPP conformance (protocol/RRM/RF), feature bring up in operator networks, and has worked with LTE/5G System Level and Link Level Simulators. He has implemented advanced DSP algorithms, wireless communications physical layer algorithms in MATLAB, and has strong programming experience in C, CPP, MATLAB, Python, and Perl. Mahesh has expertise in working with Qualcomm, SPRD, FreeScale, Infineon, Intel solutions, and has worked on test equipment from Keysight, R&S, VIAVI, Ercom, Anritsu Network. He is currently working as a Staff Engineer at Radisys, where he is responsible for performing bit-exactness verification of TDD 100 MHz for the DL chain for 4T4R, 8T8R, and has demonstrated handover optimization using reinforcement learning. Mahesh has also worked as a Lead Engineer at Radisys, where he designed and developed dynamic RRM for downlink resource allocation and provided a framework to generate Testmac configurations automatically supporting multiple UEs, multiple cells. He has also worked as an Advanced Senior Communication Software Engineer at Spreadtrum, where he implemented Polar Encoding and CA-SCL Decoding for 5G NR and obtained good expertise on uplink and downlink LTE PHY and DSP processing at UE side. Mahesh holds a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in Communication Engineering from VIT and a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering
