Camille Teicheira is a seasoned traveler and engineer with over 11 years of relevant experience. Currently working as a Software Engineer at SoFar Ocean, Camille has previously worked with Mapbox as a Meta-cartographer, designing and building tools and platforms that make maps. During her time at Mapbox, Camille designed and built a massive scalable pipeline for collecting, storing, and analyzing telemetry data from mobile devices running the Mapbox SDKs. She also managed a team of data scientists to determine missing or incorrectly tagged maneuvers in OSM to improve routing. Camille launched an industry best-practice security protocol for collecting and storing sensitive location data, including mobile device permissions, anonymization, team access, and consumer opt-out policies for 3rd party developers. She also converted Mapbox products to run on private, siloed servers as Mapbox Atlas, added Chinese language support and Chinese geodata to Mapbox Geocoding, and delivered the first web-map timing library to monitor performance across CDNs. Additionally, Camille designed a customer-facing user analytics and billing statistics portal. Before joining Mapbox, Camille took a long-term holiday and traveled to 26 countries by plane, train, bus, motorcycle, horse, and 4x4 camper van.
