Cat McGee is a passionate software engineer, speaker, and advocate for a decentralized web. With over 4 years of relevant experience, she has established herself as a Developer Advocate for Web3 & Blockchain. Her biggest passion is making the web a more private and trustworthy place. She is not interested in positions at FAANG or any company that engages in unethical user tracking. Currently, Cat is working as the Head of Developer Relations at Hype Partners, where she leads developer relations efforts for some of the biggest projects in the blockchain space, such as Algorand, Celo, NEAR. Her key activities include organizing virtual & in-person developer events, strategizing developer acquisition and brand within the web3 space, hosting hackathons, creating content, onboarding new developers, building web3 partnerships, engaging and growing developer communities. In the past, Cat worked as a Software QA Consultant at self-employed, where she had a variety of consulting roles at startups, including blockchain. Her main focus was on developing and implementing dev & QA processes. She also took part in software design, UI design, community engagement, and product management. She also worked as a Software QA Lead at Aave, where she set up QA & engineering processes, wrote e2e & integration tests, and worked with Ethereum blockchain. Cat holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from The Open University and completed her schooling from The University of Stirling. Her tech stack includes Web3, Blockchain, Decentralised, QA, Web, Software Engineer, Designer, Product Manager, UI, Ethereum, Integration. She is open to fully remote opportunities and lives a decentralized life.
