With a background in academic research and years of experience building technology products based in AI, Catherine is an expert in her field. She has managed large distributed teams and can translate complex technical concepts for business audiences or vice versa. Currently serving as an Advisor for deeptech labs, a VC fund, accelerator, and catalyst for deeptech success, Catherine is embedded in a powerful network of successful entrepreneurs, expert practitioners, leading researchers, and deeptech organizations worldwide. Her role involves helping startups bring cutting-edge technology to market. Prior to joining deeptech labs, Catherine founded Kingfisher Labs, where she built technology and managed people and projects that spanned large distributed teams. She also worked as a Director and Solutions Architect for Cobalt Speech & Language, advising companies and building high-performing voice and language technology for their specific problems. Catherine's education history includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Engineering/Automatic Speech Recognition from the University of Cambridge, an MPhil in Speech, Text and Internet Technology from the same institution, and an MEng in Engineering and Computer Science from Oxford University.
