Cem Ozen is a highly skilled Software Engineer with over four years of professional experience in developing software products and solutions in finance, big data, embedded, and gaming. He has a keen interest in functional programming, distributed systems, and data engineering. Cem has a strong technical background and is proficient in Java, Scala, and Python. Currently, Cem works as a Software Engineer at Apple Media Products, Data Engineering. Prior to that, he worked as a Software Engineer at Goldman Sachs Asset Management Technology and EMBonds, a London-based startup building an electronic trading platform. During his tenure at EMBonds, Cem developed OpenFIX, a FIX client-server application used to develop automated FIX API tests. He also created and maintained a microservice for event processing and logging using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Data, RabbitMQ, and Redis. Cem successfully built a greenfield bond auction system using core Java that enabled administrators to start a bond auction at a fixed price and round lot size and then choose participants for the auction. Cem has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Boğaziçi University and completed an exchange program in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin. Outside of work, Cem is a talented bass guitarist and drummer who enjoys studying jazz theory, composition, piano, and music production. He is also an amateur juggler, meditator, and lindy hop dancer.
