Chandan Pandey
Technical Architect, Developer, Author, Microservices, Serverless, AWS, Docker, Cloud
About
Chandan Pandey is an accomplished Technical Architect, Developer, and Author with over 16 years of experience in end-to-end application development and delivery. He is a certified Java architect from Oracle and the author of the book “Spring Integration Essentials”. Chandan has overseen the design, development, and delivery of multiple products from scratch, including monolithic applications, container-based microservices, and event-based microservices in AWS serverless environments. Chandan is a technical leader who closely works on non-functional aspects of software such as security, authentication, and authorization, backup/restore, and disaster recovery. He understands the importance of following SOLID principles, writing clean code, minimizing technical debt, and leveraging continuous integration for delivering quality software in frequent intervals. Chandan's current project is a serverless-based microservices solution that leverages AWS serverless components such as Lambda, S3, Athena, DynamoDB, SNS, and SQS. It connects to heterogeneous systems such as SQL, file-based systems, and Kafka, uploads data onto AWS S3, and feeds it into AWS Kinesis stream. AWS Lambdas further process this data and orchestrate using AWS SQS before sending it to one of the external systems. It is a multi-tenant system that uses AWS IAM to segregate customer role and data. In his previous roles, Chandan worked on a distributed containerized (Docker) solution managed by Google Kubernetes Engine on Google Cloud Platform. He used Nginx ingress controller and request per second as an external metric for horizontal scaling. This project used Grafana, Prometheus, along with Google stack driver for project health and stats monitoring. Prior to that, he worked on a monolithic application that enables agents and customers to collaborate on a web page in real-time leveraging websockets. Chandan is currently working as an enterprise-level Technical Architect at Avaya, where he works closely with Product Management, Senior Engineering leadership, Development, and QA teams to successfully deliver cloud-based solutions out to end customers. He overlooks all aspects of software, including functional and non-functional requirements such as extendability, scale, performance, security, maintainability, etc. Chandan's tech stack includes AWS, Microservices, Docker, Integration, Spring, SQL, Amazon Athena, Java, CI/CD, Kubernetes, QA, Product Manager, Kafka, Web, Software Engineer, Designer, Javascript, MySQL, NoSQL, Spring Boot, Postgres, GCP, and UI.
