Chandra Elango is a seasoned technology leader with over 25 years of experience in management and technical roles. Currently, he serves as the Head of Product, Commerce at Atlassian, where he leads a global team of product managers and engineers responsible for commerce, sales, marketing tech, and customer support tech. Chandra is a hands-on leader with a passion for building great teams and delivering large enterprise programs. Prior to his current role, Chandra was the Vice President of IT at VMware in the Business Applications group, where he led several key initiatives, including enterprise architecture, SaaS subscription billing, engineering, go-to-market, emerging technologies, development, QA, and application support organizations. He was also responsible for leading VMware IT's mobile and DevOps transformation initiatives. During his tenure at VMware, Chandra relocated to India to set up VMware IT in Bangalore from scratch and grew it into a key global delivery center. Chandra's previous experience includes working as a hands-on engineer at Cisco, where he was responsible for platform and integration architecture. He then moved into a project management role to deliver engineering change management and compliance portfolio of applications. Prior to Cisco, he was a software engineer at Gallup. Chandra holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, Seattle, and an MBA from San Jose State University, San Jose. He also has a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Thanthai Periyar Government Institute of Technology. Chandra's tech stack includes product management, QA, DevOps, integration, mobile, and software engineering. He is a results-driven leader who has a track record of delivering complex programs and building high-performing teams.
