Chang Liu is a highly skilled software engineer with a passion for distributed systems and databases. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science at Northeastern University in Seattle, WA, and holds a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering from Southeast University in Nanjing, China. Chang has gained valuable experience through internships at top companies such as Snowflake, Tencent Cloud, and Bytedance. At Snowflake, he worked on the distributed storage system team and built a high-performance data movement feature for FoundationDB, a distributed key-value database. He also created a singleton role in the FoundationDB cluster to manage metadata for data movements and handled data movement operations, supporting data recovery, data persistence, timeout, and transaction properties. Additionally, he designed and developed data movement operation implementations in the Tenant Balancer, using C++ and Flow asynchronous framework. At Tencent Cloud, Chang designed and implemented a speed limiter algorithm for Tencent Cloud CDN, developed asynchronous modules to update speed limiter configuration, and created modules to support resolving and processing Lua scripts in Tencent CDN. Currently, Chang is working as a Software Engineer at Google, where he is involved in Cloud Spanner. His technical expertise includes Snowflake, Spring, Backend, and Software Engineering. He is a quick learner and has a strong ability to understand complex systems. Chang is a team player and has excellent communication skills, making him an asset to any team.
