Charanjit Ghai is a seasoned Senior Software Engineer with over 7 years of relevant experience in the industry. Currently working at Amazon as an Sr. SDE, he is passionate about learning new technologies and enjoys solving algorithmic problems. Charanjit is responsible for hiring engineers for all levels at AWS. Charanjit's major projects at Amazon include RDS Outposts Muti-AZ, where he worked in a team of 10+ engineers to provide support for High Availability Relational Databases (postgres, mysql) on AWS Outposts. He implemented workflow orchestration through AWS serverless technologies and led the team on Operational Readiness (Observability, SOPs, Gameday testing). Charanjit also conducted Brown Bags for knowledge transfer to the Monitoring Plane team. Prior to Amazon, Charanjit worked at Oracle as a Principal Member Of Technical Staff. He worked on major projects such as Supporting Data Assets behind Private IPs in Customer's On Prem Network and Apache Hive Metastore as a Service. Charanjit designed and developed the entire control plane, improved performance for get/list APIs by 2x to 10x through Highly Consistent Cache Design for Distributed Multi AD deployment, and led the team on Operational Improvements, Client-side improvements, Performance Benchmarking. He also led the team on Security initiatives and implementations through Resource Principals setup and migrated deployment platform access to Instance Principals from User Principals. Charanjit's early experience includes working as an ATL Intern at Adobe Systems. He worked in a group of 3 interns to improve the user experience at the social front end. Charanjit created a model for inspiring creative professionals by showing them images based on a search query. He filed for and was granted two patents at the US Patent Office and was awarded Pre-Placement offer based on his performance. Charanjit has a Bachelor of Technology - BTech degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati.
