Charu Gupta is an Associate Analyst at EY GDS with a demonstrated history of working in the financial services industry. In her current role, Charu has identified potential conflicts of interest through internal and external database research on clients and counterparties involved in new proposals with a 98% quality rate, 90% turnaround time, and productivity. She has also performed secondary research on clients and their counterparties to find out relationships and conflicts of interest, exposing her to EY's different engagements with their backgrounds and purposes. Charu has acted as a liaison between the client teams and other members of the Risk Management team, providing different measures to resolve conflicting situations while maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of clients, assuring decision-making processes to accept or continue engagement with a client. She has also assisted supervisors/managers in preparing the resolution and clearance of conflicting interest issues and has a deep understanding of the Risk Management process (Independence and Conflicts). Charu has suggested management solutions to make the process more structured and hassle-free, earning her an award. Before her current role, Charu interned at EY, where she primarily supported the Independence practices determining and reporting any business, lending, employment, financial, and economic relationships existing between EY and its clients using various methodologies and internal databases before pursuing an audit client. She also checked internal risks to ensure that EY is independent of its audit client and does not bear any impermissible issues that could impair EY Independence. Charu has also worked as a Finance Intern at Amex, where she analyzed income statements from annual reports and pulled out GL reports and analyzed them. She found out write-offs with their respective region, market, and source at all functional teams. Charu performed the entire write-off/back analysis for the entire 2017 and till Jun 2018. Charu holds a Masters of Business Administration in Finance from Sri Sri University and a Bachelor of Technology - B.Tech in Information Technology from JSS Academy of Technical Education, Noida. She completed her Senior Secondary Education from Maharishi Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, where she studied PCM. Charu is a Research Scientist with 4.53 years of relevant experience.
