Chenen Liang is a highly skilled Software Engineering Manager at Facebook with over 14 years of experience in the technology industry. He has worked for some of the biggest tech companies in the world, including Facebook and Google, as a software engineer and a data analyst engineer. Chenen is passionate about building Android apps and data science that can have a big impact on millions of people. He is currently managing two teams at Facebook: Integrity Measurement & Insights and Instagram Growth team. His teams are responsible for building platforms that enable product teams to set up measurement, experimentation, and data quality frameworks with easy-to-use self-serving platforms. In his previous roles at Facebook, Chenen was part of the photos growth team where he worked on mobile platforms including Android and mobile web. His main focus was to increase photo uploads and photo tags without hurting user experience. He also worked on improving the performance of the photo picker, where he was able to improve the performance from 4s to 1.25s for low-end Android phones. As a Data Scientist, Chenen built analytics for Facebook Photos from scratch. He built pipelines, dashboards, and daily emails to help monitor the performance of Flash Uploader and identify low hanging fruits and potential problems. He also helped with photo mobile experience, where he built an improved version of photo uploader that increased photo uploads on Mobile by double digits. Chenen holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo. He is a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Android, iOS, Backend, Mobile, UI, and Web.
