Chengchen Sun is a highly skilled engineer with over 12 years of experience in the tech industry. He is currently a Senior Software Engineer at Netflix, working in the Billing & Revenue Infra team. In this role, Chengchen is responsible for creating Netflix bills, managing gift cards, and backing Netflix's quarter earnings to the Street. Chengchen has an extensive background in designing scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems. Prior to joining Netflix, he worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Uber, where he led the design, implementation, testing, and rollout of expense providers support and Uber rewards integration. He also worked in Uber's Core Services team, where he migrated core vehicle-related APIs to a new microservice and implemented flexible, performant vehicle search using ElasticSearch. Before joining Uber, Chengchen worked at NVIDIA as a Senior Software Engineer, where he worked on high-power optimization for NVIDIA's graphics cards. He designed and implemented power control features to achieve better performance per watt for next-gen GPUs, a project publicly known as GPUBoost. Chengchen holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Nanjing University. He also attended the High School Affiliated to Nanjing Normal University. In addition to his technical expertise, Chengchen is also a runner and photographer.
