Chengzhu Duan is a highly motivated software engineer with a passion for building tools that empower people and make a positive impact on the world. He is constantly learning and expanding his knowledge in computer science, math, economics, and moral philosophy to improve his skills and stay up-to-date with the latest technologies. Currently, Chengzhu is an Undergraduate Student Researcher at the University of California, San Diego - Jacobs School of Engineering, where he has developed a Bayesian Personalized Binary Classifier that predicts whether or not users will play a game before purchasing from Steam with 93% accuracy. He has also utilized Scipy and Scikit-Learn to apply popular visualization and data-processing practices on real-world data and build custom machine learning pipelines. Chengzhu has previously worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Omniscience Corporation and Coinbase, where he has developed scalable RESTful Flask apps, implemented document uploading and sharing functionalities, and streamlined in-app invoice workflows. He has also built scalable backend automatic billing services and email notification services with Ruby on Rails and ensured fast UI load times with proper frontend caching. Chengzhu holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego, and a High School degree from St. Joseph's Prep. He is proficient in a wide range of technologies, including Web3, AWS, Ruby, UI, Frontend, Backend, Spring Boot, Spring, and Flask. With 2.53 years of relevant experience, Chengzhu is a collaborative, innovative, and logical thinker who is always looking for ways to improve his skills and make a positive impact on the world.
