Chi-An Wang is a highly skilled Frontend Engineer at Facebook with over 7 years of relevant experience in the industry. Currently, she is a Senior Engineer at the Lightweight Ads Experience Team where she has worked on several exciting projects that have contributed to the overall success of the team. One of her highlighted projects involved using a Machine Learning Model to identify public comments with business intent and surfacing them in ads view results page. She built a pipeline to run through the huge amount of comments in most Facebook pages and also built the UI for advertisers to reply to comments. Chi-An was responsible for driving the project, including working with cross-functional teams to have weekly check-ins. She also worked with partner teams who were interested in the project and provided support in expanding this feature to other teams. The project was a great success, increasing the team's core metrics by 1.0% and demonstrating the value of Facebook ads to their users. Another notable project that Chi-An worked on was driving testing effort across multiple teams. She identified missing testing needs, including End-to-End Tests, Integration Tests, Screenshot Tests, and Unit Tests. She came up with multiple examples for each of them and created up to 150 tasks so that her teammates could claim and finish. She also gathered three other teammates to give talks about each test during their testing week. This effort increased up to 100 tests for the team across different test types and has become an annual event on the team. Chi-An was also involved in the Lightweight Interfaces New Facebook Rewrite project where she helped to rewrite one of the first products to adapt. Along with a handful of other engineers, she created a guideline for other team members to follow while migrating code for their team to the new Facebook. Before joining Facebook, Chi-An worked as a Things Team Intern at Quartz and as a Data Engineer and Front-end Developer at udn.com co.ltd. She has a Master's Degree in Computer Science and Journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from National Taiwan University.
