Chike Mgbemena is a results-driven Senior Android Engineer with over 5 years of experience in strategic problem-solving using programming technologies. He is highly experienced in building useful, simple, and complex android apps to achieve concrete goals. Currently, Chike is working as a Senior Android Engineer at Snappy Shopper, the UK’s fastest-growing convenience store delivery service provider. He is responsible for developing and supporting cutting-edge software solutions for the company. In the past, Chike has worked as a Software Lead - Android and Senior Android Engineer at Carbon, a leading digital financial services company in Nigeria. At Carbon, he successfully worked on rebranding the app from ‘Paylater’ to ‘Carbon’ and implemented multi-country support in the app for the expansion of the Carbon app in Kenya which increased their customer base by over 30%. Chike also implemented modularization of features in the codebase for better maintenance and faster Gradle build time. He successfully migrated over 75% of the codebase to Kotlin. The Carbon mobile app, which he contributed to, won the best Fintech solution at AppsAfrica Innovation Awards 2019 and two awards: Digital Loan Provider of the Year and Best Loan App at the 5th Nigeria Finance Innovation Award 2019. Chike holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He is strongly passionate about innovative ideas, fitness, and problem-solving using programming technologies. Chike is proficient in Android and Mobile technologies and has relevant experience of 8.20 years. He has mentored junior engineers, conducted technical interviews, and technical onboarding of new android engineers.
