Chirag Hota is an accomplished Engineering Manager with over 12 years of relevant experience in leading and managing software development teams. He is currently working as an Engineering Manager at Confluent, a leading provider of data streaming platforms. In his current role, Chirag is responsible for managing a team of engineers and delivering high-quality software products. Before joining Confluent, Chirag worked as a Staff Engineering Manager II at InMobi, where he led a team of 20 engineers to design and develop an ad mediation platform from scratch. He also scaled the team from 3 to 20 engineers in 9 months through internal and external hiring. Chirag defined the processes for annual and quarterly planning and mapping it with individual sprints. He was responsible for defining and monitoring the performance of engineers and establishing best practices for hiring in the organization. Chirag also evangelized guiding principles for the organization to fasten the decision-making process. He used a wide range of technologies in his work, including Java, Golang, Python, Swift, Kotlin, React JS, Node JS, Postgres, Elastic Search, Redis, Kafka, Druid, and Pinot. Prior to InMobi, Chirag worked as a Software Development Manager at Amazon, where he led a team of SDEs, SDET, and TPM to build and manage different payment products and supply chain products for Amazon. He was responsible for defining the technology roadmap and long-term vision for the team. Chirag also defined and fine-tuned the processes for program execution by following Agile development using Scrum methodologies. He used Java, Scala, Dynamo DB, Redshift, Lambda, MYSQL, SQS, and STS in his work at Amazon. Chirag has a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Computer Science from the National Institute of Technology Rourkela. He also has an undergraduate degree in Science from Deepika English Medium School, Rourkela.
