Chirag Patel is an accomplished Associate Director of Engineering at Razorpay, a leading payment apps charter with a team of 28+ engineers, including EM/senior ICs & staff. He has over 11 years of relevant experience in the field of software engineering, with a demonstrated history of working in the payments industry. Chirag's expertise lies in Monolith to Microservice setup, Best DevOps practices, and Team building. He has successfully hired and trained backend, frontend, and QA resources, ensuring that the team is always equipped with the necessary skills to deliver high-quality products. At Razorpay, Chirag has developed products for payment split, virtual bank accounts, and dynamic QR codes for enterprise merchants. He has designed distributed multi-tenant systems to scale traffic for each merchant, scaling core systems to support config based customization for transfers & settlements. He is also responsible for running org-wide initiatives for developer productivity and frontend hiring charter. Prior to Razorpay, Chirag has worked as a Principal Engineering Manager at Bajaj Finserv and as an Engineering Manager at 1mg. At Bajaj Finserv, he developed capabilities that offer hospital visitors health financing based on medical data and eventually upsell them to buy long-term health plans for hospitals. He also designed engineering solutions and worked closely with the product and design team to hire and build an engineering team. At 1mg, he led a team of 14 engineers and built core payment systems as a platform service, revamped medicine products content management tools, and built an entire CMS system that controls 1mg's home page (web/app) & category widget along with product category management. Chirag holds a Masters of Science in Computer Application & Information Technology from Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University and a Higher Secondary School degree from Ramkrishna High School, Mandvi - Gujarat. His tech stack includes Senior Software Engineer, Frontend, Microservices, QA, DevOps, Backend, Search, Integration, and Web.
