Chloe Skillman is a diligent and self-disciplined Graduate Software Engineer with a strong desire to succeed. She has high standards and expectations for herself and her peers, and is committed to assisting others to ensure the overall team delivers its objectives. Chloe is currently working as a JavaScript developer in the Children's App team at the BBC, supporting the development of the CBeebies Children's Apps. She has been learning React to create components for CBeebies Storytime app and has taken part in testing Playtime Island and Storytime apps using Cypress, Enzyme, and React testing library. Chloe has also worked as a front-end developer in the Visual Journalism team at the BBC, creating interactive content for pages on BBC News using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Handlebars, and SASS. She has worked with designers, journalists, and other developers in her team to create interactive content in a number of projects, including 'Brazil Municipal Elections 2020', 'Covid-19 in the UK', 'BBC 100 Women 2020', and 'Uganda 2021 Election Candidates'. Chloe has also led the project 'Expensive Food in Iran', which is now live on BBC News فارسی. Prior to her current role, Chloe worked with the BBC Monitoring full-stack developers as part of a team using languages and technologies like Python, Django, and Elasticsearch. During her time in BBC Monitoring, she worked on a replacement product for future journalists, created multiple selenium tests for testing BBC products, and set up a Grafana project using Elasticsearch to monitor SQL commands, Network & Memory, and Threads & Errors. Chloe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Games from the University of Essex. She is skilled in Software Engineering, testing, JavaScript, frontend development, SQL, Elasticsearch, Selenium, Python, and Django. With over 5 years of relevant experience in the field, Chloe is a valuable asset to any team.
