Chris Balane is a highly accomplished Product Manager with over 16 years of relevant experience. He is currently employed at GetUpside as a Product Manager. Chris has previously worked at Opower as a Principal Product Manager and Senior Product Manager. At Opower, Chris led a team of designers and developers to create a prototype of modernized utility contact center tools. He presented the prototype at the Oracle Utilities Product Forum, where it was highly acclaimed by customers. Chris continued the success by leading a team to redesign the framework for all Enterprise tools and launched it at Oracle OpenWorld, where it was among the top Utilities highlights. He also created a vision, strategy, and roadmap for launching integrated legacy and SaaS utility and customer experience products, including defending against Salesforce, and enabling SI partners for implementations. Chris has also mentored 3 new Product Managers and started a Product Roundtable to share knowledge among PMs. Chris has a strong educational background, having completed an MS in Computer Science with a Concentration in Telecommunications and Networking from The Johns Hopkins University and a BS in Computer Science from Stanford University. He also attended West Windsor Plainsboro High School North. Chris is proficient in various tech stacks, including product management, Salesforce, test, and web. He is a highly motivated and driven individual who consistently delivers results. Chris has earned the Team Oscar award for leading a large cross-functional team of 30 to scope with client, design, develop, test, and launch features for 5 energy management products, realizing $3M revenue with 50% margin and under budget, and completing the two most significant milestones of the largest SaaS deal in Oracle history.
