Chris Catignani is a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer with over 15 years of relevant experience. He is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Shoppies.co, where he is responsible for developing and maintaining scalable and robust systems. Prior to this, Chris worked at Uber, where he held two Senior Software Engineer positions. At Uber, Chris was a part of the Uber Eats Restaurant team, where he was responsible for owning the restaurant domain throughout the Uber Eats stack. He replaced the legacy restaurant signup backend with a more scalable and robust system, hardened the restaurant search service to improve response time, and established and promoted engineering best practices across all the Uber Eats Restaurant teams. Chris was also heavily involved in interviewing Engineers and Engineering Managers. Chris also worked at the Uber Eats Courier team, where he built and maintained all functionality and features to ensure couriers could pick up and deliver food seamlessly. He re-architected how addresses are used throughout the stack, improving multi-language support and ensuring compliance with 3rd party data suppliers. He also diagnosed and fixed various eater and restaurant address input issues, working with the legal team and operations teams in multiple countries. Chris also piloted routing and ETAs for couriers who deliver via bicycle. Chris' technical expertise includes Software Engineering, Microservices, Search, and Backend development.
