Chris Fernandes is a seasoned Head of Engineering with over 14 years of experience in the technology industry. Currently, he is leading the engineering team at Lendi, Australia's leading home loan platform. Chris is passionate about using technology to revolutionize the industry and solve key pain points in people's lives. Prior to joining Lendi, Chris was the Build Manager (Head of Dev and DevOps) at Toll Group's Digital Centre of Excellence. He led the digital delivery, digital engineering, and management of digital and e-commerce assets for a $50M digital transformation to AWS Cloud. Chris also provided guidance and best practices to the team on technical aspects, influencing and making recommendations on coding and environment standards. Some of the key components he worked on include Agile Software Engineering and DevOps, Leadership and Digital Strategy, AWS Cloud, and API Strategy. Chris has also worked as a Senior Technology Consultant and Technical Delivery Manager at ServiceRocket, where he was responsible for working closely with the company's biggest customers and providing solution architecture and technical expertise at the C-level. He managed resources, time, scope, and budget on multiple Agile/DevOps projects and worked cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Support, and Engineering teams. Chris has led and coordinated teams to develop and establish DevOps strategies for several large companies, including Telstra. Chris holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a major in Strategic Management of Information Technology from Universidade de São Paulo and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná. He has a diverse tech stack, including AWS, DevOps, Javascript, Microservices, CI/CD, ECS, Ansible, Docker, product management, NodeJS, Java, Elastic Search, Jenkins, Bamboo, and Integration.
