Chris Min is a Senior Software Engineer with a strong focus on Data Engineering. He is currently working as a Staff Data Engineer at Teladoc Health, where he is responsible for building and maintaining data processing pipelines on-premise, on-cloud (AWS and Azure), and hybrid environments. Chris has extensive experience in processing large amounts of data, solving scalability problems, and exploring new technologies to architect the best solution. Chris has worked with several frameworks and technologies, including Play Framework, akka, cats, http4s, NumPy, Pandas, Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm. He is proficient in several programming languages, including Scala, Python, Java, SQL, and Bash. Although he is not a data scientist himself, Chris has collaborated with data scientists in several occasions and is well-versed in machine learning technologies such as Spark's MLlib, TensorFlow, and Weka. Chris has worked at several companies, including Livongo, where he worked as a Senior Software Engineer, Data, and YOSS, where he worked as a Senior Data/Software Engineer and Data Architect. At YOSS, Chris managed two tech teams, one responsible for implementing the web application and the other responsible for everything related to data. He was more hands-on when it came to data-related projects, working mainly on data processing and search/matching using Apache Spark, Kubernetes (with Helm), Docker, TensorFlow, Scala, Python, and various Azure cloud products. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
