Chris Riccio is a software quality expert with over 20 years of professional experience in shipping high-quality, customer-focused software. His primary focus has been on web platforms and solutions. Chris is skilled in robust and reliable automation of software tests, professional career mentorship, hardware planning and budgeting, and software release management. Currently, Chris is the Director of Engineering at zipwhip, where he leads the Reporting and Business Intelligence engineering team. He crafts the vision for the future of customer-facing analytics in partnership with the Product team and sets the technical roadmap for features, balancing internal business analytics needs with insights features for customers. Chris monitors and steers the overall health of the engineering organization in partnership with other engineering directors. He is also driving the migration from a datacenter-like Data Warehouse to a cloud-based highly scalable Data and Insights platform built in Azure using Synapse Analytics and DataLake Storage. Prior to joining zipwhip, Chris worked at fti consulting as the Senior Director of Technology, where he was responsible for driving improvements to their DevOps practices. He defined and led the migration of their installshield code base to wix toolset, re-implemented six installers, and enabled developers to contribute installer updates directly. Chris also transitioned automated testing from Skytap to AWS to more closely align with production instance configurations and migrated their source code from one monolithic TFS repository to several Git (GitHub) repositories. Chris is a graduate of New York University, where he obtained his BA in Computer Science.
