Chris Richardson is a results-driven and team-oriented technical leader with over 17 years of relevant experience in software engineering, AWS, senior software engineering, and product management. Currently, he is serving as a Senior Software Development Manager at Amazon, where he is leading a global team of 100+ engineers to build and improve the Relational Database Service (RDS) and a new service in development. In his previous roles, Chris has worked with Hootsuite Media Inc. as a Lead Engineer, where he formed and led the Internal Tools team, delivering high-value tools to internal stakeholders. He also hired and managed a team of seven engineers, defined and managed agile software development lifecycle, and worked with Product Management to define the product roadmap. Chris has also led Dashboard and Security teams and led the Security team to successful Deloitte certification, resulting in a successful SOC 2 audit. Moreover, he led the Hootsuite-wide Facebook Graph API upgrade project, from version 1.0 to 2.2, and hit the April 30th, 2015 deadline with no user impact, working directly with Facebook on new permission types. Chris holds a B.A.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Simon Fraser University, where he graduated in 2005. He is proficient in various tech stacks, including Software Engineer, AWS, Senior Software Engineer, Web, and product manager. As a technical leader, Chris is passionate about helping people build the right things.
