Chris Selmer is a highly experienced Ruby on Rails developer with over 21 years of relevant experience in the tech industry. He has a strong background in web development and has worked extensively with Ruby on Rails, pure Ruby, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Bootstrap, Heroku, AWS, and other related technologies. Chris previously ran one of the world's largest Ruby on Rails consultancies, where he was heavily involved in the business side of things. However, he eventually returned to his programming roots as a freelance developer and architect. Currently, he is serving as the Vice President of Engineering at Verumex. Throughout his career, Chris has helped start-ups and established companies from all over the world build amazing Ruby on Rails web apps. He has also incubated and invested in technology companies, including Divshot (acquired by Firebase/Google), Intridea (acquired by Mobomo), MyEnergy (acquired by Nest, acquired by Google), Scalr, and Socialspring (acquired by UnitedWeb). Chris holds a BA in Mathematics and Computer Science from McDaniel College, where he graduated in 2001. He also earned a 4.0 GPA (out of 4.0) from Glenelg High School in 1997. As a senior software engineer, Chris is highly skilled in his craft and is always eager to learn new technologies.
