It uses a page rank algorithm to search and organize results for users. It also offers various features like voice-enabled search which makes challenged people access the platform and multi-lingual access. Its application is available for Android and iOS devices.

Wrote a benchmark and regression test to ensure performance was maintained on a new version of the crawler.

Implemented a BLE based protocol which all robots could use to broadcast basic information to nearby cell phones in C++. Also created an Android app for an experiment related to testing the technology. The app was a game that had the user pop bubbles to distract them during the experiment.

Worked on the Google Play movies team. Reworked the backend of the movies genre pages (in Java). Previously, if you clicked a genre you would see only two lists of movies: "Top movies in <genre>" and "New movies in <genre>". Using an existing genre tree, I created a flexible backend that uses the genre tree to display more interesting results. For example, now when you click action movies you might see more interesting lists like "Superhero movies" as well as the old lists like "Top" and "New". My backend also allows users to explore deeper than just 1 genre so you could expand lists like "Superhero movies" to view the sub-lists "DC Comics Movies" and "Marvel Movies". Caused a ~10% increase in revenue on the genre pages.

Currently researching applications of augmented reality in physical therapy using the Sony SmartEyeglass and ODG's R-6 glasses. The glass' applications are written in Java along with the Android SDK and rosjava.

SI for Programming II. Tutored topics including class construction, data abstraction, inheritance, polymorphism, and encapsulation using Java. Responsible for leading two group-study sessions each week.
