Christopher Yates is a UI Engineer at Dremio with a passion for front-end development. He graduated from Santa Clara University with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science in June 2019 and has since been honing his skills in full-stack development, with a focus on front-end development. Christopher excels in the creative aspects of front-end development, such as detailed visual placements, choice interactions for users, and logical implementation for various UX flows. He enjoys putting together the puzzle pieces that serve the client first-hand. Christopher has experience working as a Software Engineer at Incorta, where he onboarded and mentored two new members of the front-end team, served as the technical lead for the conversion of the Schema page, and wrote over ten end-to-end test suites using Cypress. He also assisted in the process of re-writing the front-end codebase from JavaScript to TypeScript and replacing React class components with React Hooks API. Additionally, Christopher designed and delivered the UI for the Dashboard Tabs feature, coordinating with the backend, UX, and PM teams to align API contracts, design specs, and project requirements. As a Software Engineer Intern at Incorta, Christopher developed a scheduler page for the main product that contains three tabs for different sets of table information by converting code from Incorta's previous Angular framework into React. He also added a variety of features that replaced old REST calls, cleaned up parameter objects between fetch calls, and improved the top-down fluidity of information. Christopher's technical skills include UI, Frontend, test, Backend, Software Engineer, product manager, Javascript, Typescript, Senior Software Engineer, Redux, and AngularJS.
