Chuck McTague is a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer with over 27 years of relevant experience. He is currently working at EFI, where he holds the position of Senior Software Engineer. Chuck has previously worked with Extreme Networks as a Principal Software Applications Engineer and Team Lead, where he was responsible for leading a team of engineers in the development of Extreme's Network Access Control (NAC) products. Chuck's technical expertise includes software engineering, backend development, CI/CD, testing, Java, JavaScript, MySQL, and UI development. He has experience working with a variety of tools and technologies, including Agile/Scrum, Linux, ClearCase, Root-Cause Analysis, Unit-Test, REST, JSON, PostgreSQL, SOAP/WSDL, Git, Jira, Eclipse, and Bash. During his time at Extreme Networks, Chuck played a key role in the development of their NAC products. He prioritized and architected new features, coordinated resolution of customer issues, mentored junior engineers, and scheduled team-wide tasks. Chuck's contributions helped increase authentication event processing by 30% through profiling and performance enhancements to database accesses and thread context-switching. He also designed RESTful interfaces to allow for reporting from third-party NACs, providing customers with enhanced visibility of multi-vendor networks from one management application. Chuck has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and attended Tahanto Regional High School.
