Clayton Coleman is an accomplished architect, engineer, and strategic visionary for application platforms in the cloud at Red Hat. With over 20 years of relevant experience, he has helped set the direction for the evolution of cloud-native applications and the platforms that enable them. As an Architect, Kubernetes and OpenShift at Red Hat, Clayton is a core contributor to OpenShift and Kubernetes, the open-source platform as a service and the containerized cluster manager. He has been instrumental in developing and guiding technical evolution and strategic features for OpenShift, Red Hat's Platform-as-a-Service. Before joining Red Hat, Clayton worked as a Lead Engineer, OpenShift at IBM, where he led the development of OpenShift and guided its technical evolution and strategic features. He also worked as a Software Engineer at IBM, where he built, designed, and led products in the Lotus collaboration and content organization, including IBM Connections, IBM Connections Files, Lotus Quickr, WebSphere Portal Document Manager, and WebSphere Personalization. Clayton holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Engineering from Case Western Reserve University. His tech stack includes senior software engineering, Kubernetes, infra, and software engineering.
