Cleave Masereka is an experienced software engineer with over 8 years of experience in designing, developing, and testing enterprise-level applications. Currently working at Apple in the role of Software Engineer, Cleave has previously worked at SafeBoda and Palm Pesa, where he has contributed to the development of several Android and iOS applications using Swift and AngularJS. At SafeBoda, Cleave was instrumental in developing two Android applications and one iOS application using Swift. He used AngularJS, Bootstrap, CSS, and HTML to design forms and data views on the admin web interface. He also developed RESTful Web Services to interact with other sections of the system using Node.js. Cleave significantly reduced the delays between the application to server communication by using socket.io on the client side and Node.js on the server instead of some of the frequent HTTP calls which were slow on most of the cases when the number of users increased. Cleave used Mongoose to connect to MongoDB for the database and used PHPUnit for automated testing, Docker for containerization, and Jenkins for continuous integration and delivery. At Palm Pesa, Cleave developed enterprise-level applications using AngularJS, Spring, Hibernate, and MySQL database. He used HTML, AngularJS, and Bootstrap to design and implement a single page data presentation client. Cleave developed a RESTFul web service using Spring Boot to send and receive requests to and from a Palm Vein user identification application, a mobile payments aggregator, and the admin web application. He used JUnit for automated testing, Git for version control, and Jenkins for continuous integration. Cleave holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Maharishi University of Management.
