Cliff Lau is a Full-stack Software Engineer with over 9 years of relevant experience in both frontend and backend development. Currently, he is working as a Software Engineer II at Uber. Prior to Uber, Cliff worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Fanatics, where he managed the majority of the product catalogue responsible for the majority of gross revenue. He also worked on the Spark data pipeline, which produced a recommended purchase amount for all active products by ingesting sales and product metrics and implementing formulae developed by in-house data science team. Cliff's expertise in React, Flux, Scala, and Typescript helped him to rewrite the application and improve its efficiency. Before joining Fanatics, Cliff worked as a Software Developer at Synbiota Inc. Here, he worked with a team of developers and designers to build a project management tool for biologists. He also helped build Gentle, an open-source DNA editing tool for biologists. His proficiency in Angular, Rails, Backbone, and es6 helped him to build these tools from scratch. Cliff has a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto. He is proficient in various technologies such as AWS, Ruby, and Data Science. Cliff is a Full Stack Engineer with an eye for detail and a passion for delivering high-quality products.
