Colin Arenz is a highly experienced Software Engineer and Research Scientist with over 16 years of relevant experience. Currently working at Stripe, he is responsible for developing and implementing software solutions to drive the company's growth and success. Prior to joining Stripe, Colin worked at the Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence AI2 as a Principal Software Engineer. He founded and led the Beaker project, a cloud and on-premise platform for rapid, reproducible research. He also worked at Microsoft as a Senior Software Engineer, where he was responsible for implementing LLILUM, an ahead-of-time compiler and RTOS for .NET languages targeting embedded devices. Colin implemented C# threading API for embedded systems, including full support for tasks, and achieved dramatic performance improvements in both speed and code size. He served as go-to for particularly difficult code generation issues throughout the compiler. Colin holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Digipen Institute of Technology. He is highly skilled in a variety of tech stacks and has a deep understanding of software engineering and research.
