Collin Barnwell is a seasoned Software Engineer with over 7 years of experience in the field. Currently, he is working at Verily Life Sciences as a Senior Software Engineer, where he is responsible for bringing an embedded Linux device to market. He has a strong background in embedded software for small connected medical devices, like watches, an implantable nerve stimulator, and hearing aids. Collin has worked across many different microcontrollers and platforms, and also built tooling, Android apps, and machine learning systems. Prior to his current role, Collin worked as a Software Engineer at Verily Life Sciences, where he was responsible for developing embedded software for small connected medical devices. He also worked at Google as a Software Engineer, where he was a part of the NIC Software on Platforms team. He worked on high-performance networking for GPU ML-model training and other applications with low-level host libraries and NIC firmware. He also spent two weeks working at a data center diagnosing problems, replacing motherboards, and swapping bad hard drives. Collin holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science from Northwestern University. He is highly skilled in Software Engineering, ML, and Android.
