Belk is a&nbsp;mid-range to upscale&nbsp;department store&nbsp;chain in US. It was founded by&nbsp;William Henry Belk in 1888 in&nbsp;Monroe, North Carolina. It has presence in&nbsp;299 locations in 16 states. Their&nbsp;stores offer fashion apparel, shoes, and accessories for women, men, and children; sportswear for men; and cosmetics, home furnishings, housewares, fine jewelry, gifts, and other merchandise.&nbsp;It recorded an annual revenue of $4B for&nbsp;the year 2014.&nbsp;

I collaborated with hiring managers to identify, attract and select the best talent for Belk in a wide range of career levels. Leverage social media, networking and other innovative sourcing techniques and stay up to date on recruitment and industry trends. Build and maintain ongoing relationships with management in order to understand recruitment needs and identify skills needed for vacancies. Analyze and track data for use in designing recruitment strategies and measuring the effectiveness of my efforts.

As the Campus Recruiter for Belk I partnered with the TA team to manage high volume, full cycle recruitment for our Internships, 3 Emerging Leaders programs, and entry level hiring at the Corporate office and in the Stores. Helped to develop and manage the Corporate Intern to Leadership program,  developed and implemented the Student Ambassador program, and provided full coordination of interview days and events. Our team created  a unique Belk brand experience on campus that continues to attract top retail talent.

Partnered with the Talent Acquisition team in all aspects of the recruitment process by phone screening applicants and sourcing candidates using Boolean searches, filling requisitions, coordination of onsite interviews, increasing LinkedIn company page follows by 3.5% in ten weeks, and gaining exposure to many HRIS systems including Avature.

Worked with department team members to research various projects including a compensation analysis and benefit program analysis. My duties included assisting the HR Representative in coordinating employee focused events (Fall Festival, Thanksgiving lunch, Health Fair, etc.), attending recruiting events, revising job descriptions, and preparing for new hire orientation.

At Nextaff I scheduled in-office interviews with Avionte and Microsoft Outlook, contacted candidates to see if they were interested in being submitted for open positions, did reference calling, and conducted detailed phone screens. I gained experience using multi-line phones and managed the office’s Facebook page.

Communicated with Alumnae to update contact information, inform them on local chapter events, assisted with mass mailing projects, and promoted involvement by asking for financial gifts with a 100% success rate.

Educate customers of any current sales and promotions and provide exceptional customer service and selling. I received register experience, made weekly deposits, and aided in promoting the in-store credit card to meet monthly goals.
