Craig Dennis is a self-taught polyglot developer, software teacher, and staff developer educator at Twilio. With over 31 years of relevant experience, he thrives in the deep end and loves doing what people say he can’t. Craig’s strength is bridging the gap between idea and implementation to ensure that both programmers and product managers are speaking the same language. He is also super mission-driven and believes in creating opportunities with technology. Craig encourages a growth mindset with his students, letting them know they’re not alone in their learning journey and that coding is fun. He uses his weird acting background to teach in a style that’s empathetic and engaging. He makes at least two dad jokes per hour, which is just how he rolls. Craig has worked as a developer educator at Twilio and a senior teacher at Treehouse. At Treehouse, he created and performed fun and engaging educational content for self-guided learners. Recently, this work includes introductory Python lessons and data science tools, such as NumPy and pandas. Craig worked closely with the internal development team to raise the voices of their students. He developed reports and interactive data applications that assisted in curriculum-based decisions.
