Cristian Balta is a Java Software Engineer at accesa.eu with a passion for understanding how things work. He developed this curiosity as a child, disassembling broken electrical devices and trying to understand their operations. As a student at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, he was fascinated by the power of software and encouraged to practice it. Currently, he is a senior year student at the university and also working as a Backend Software Engineer. In his current role at accesa.eu, Cristian works in a team of developers to design and write interconnecting RESTful Services that can handle large amounts of data. He is experienced in Java 11, Spring Framework, Hibernate, Cucumber, Feign, Docker, Kubernetes, Gradle, PostgreSQL, Liquibase, Google Cloud Platform, Linux Shell Scripting, Asynchronous Messaging with Google Pub/Sub, and JSON. The development process is guided by the Agile working methodology, structured on 2-week sprints with daily scrums, refinement, review, and retrospective. Cristian has experience in creating REST endpoints, writing SQL queries, and giving code review to his colleagues. He has also worked on ensuring that the CI/CD pipelines for both the backend and frontend applications were working properly. One of his notable contributions was creating a database lock for running integration tests in the cloud, which significantly sped up the development process by removing the need to rerun the Google Cloud Build failures caused by corrupted data. Apart from his work, Cristian has completed several projects as a student, including technologies like Microcontrollers, Java, C#, Python, and SQL/ NoSQL Databases (local and real-time). Some of his notable projects include Robotic Arm, Automated Greenhouse, XCURIS Health Monitoring Device, BeerBrothers Local Webstore, Live Distance Meter, OPTIO Fridge Monitoring, Stationary Turret, eLibrary, VolunteerNow website, InternshipPlanner app, and Medicom REST and MVC. Cristian Balta holds a degree in Systems Engineering, Automation, Applied Informatics, and Software Engineering from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. He also has a Bacalaureat degree in Mathematics and Informatics from the Colegiul National Militar "Mihai Viteazul".
