Curtis Schofield is an experienced and passionate Staff Software Engineer at PagerDuty. With over 16 years of relevant experience, Curtis has worked in various roles and industries, including startups, mobile strategy design and production, and graduate-level research. Curtis's expertise lies in functional programming, and he is currently developing his skills in Rust, Elm, and Erlang/Elixir. He has also worked with Java, C, JavaScript, and Ruby, and has an intermediate to advanced level of experience with FORTRAN, C++, Clojure, C#, and Objective C. In addition to his professional work, Curtis is a huge fan of motorsports and enjoys restoring and modifying motorcycles and cars. He also has a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Statistical Sciences from the University of Alberta, where he also studied Computing Science, Buddhism, East Asia History, and Sociology. Curtis's previous work experience includes roles as a Principle Software Engineer and Senior Software Engineer at Indiegogo. He was also an architect at a multi-national company and worked on developing new marketplace and experimenting with webgl and VR products at LindenLab. At PagerDuty, Curtis is currently working in the Platform and Shared Services group, focusing on Developer Experience. He is a strong believer in life-long learning and is always looking to expand his knowledge and skills.
