About
Daniel Flannery is a Software Architect at Salesloft with over 10 years of relevant experience in the field of software development and architecture. Currently working as a Software Developer at Ionic Security, Daniel has been instrumental in the back-end development, maintenance, and improvement of Ionic's APIs on a daily basis. He joined the company after graduating and began working on various projects until settling on the platform team. Daniel enjoys working on interesting problems, testing solutions, writing documentation, and helping others learn to use what he has made. During his time at Ionic Security, Daniel has participated in the creation of the first version and beyond of Ionic's APIs and platform for encrypted communications, key management, and policy management. He has also created a Python-based client for testing the API, which became a crucial tool for Quality Assurance and other engineers and customer-facing engineers to test, work with, and showcase Ionic's platform. Daniel has assisted with implementing requirements for FIPS-140-2 certification of Ionic's underlying cryptographic library for the core SDK and has played a key role in the team-wide porting of existing Python services and MongoDB usage to Go and Cassandra and Solr. In addition to his work at Ionic Security, Daniel has worked as a Development/QA/Do Some Data Analysis at OpenStudy.com, where he significantly contributed to and enhanced a proprietary concept called "SmartScore" to assess and quantify a user's "soft skills." He also furthered the development and implementation of a user rewards system for site usage, called "Achievements." Daniel holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology, where he also earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Brown University. Daniel has completed courses in Cryptography I and Automata Theory from Coursera.
