Daniel Lindley is a highly experienced software engineer and director who has spent almost a decade working with startups to develop products that users love. He is currently the Director and Software Engineer at Crombie Consultancy, where he offers software development services to a range of startups, including H1 Insights (YC W20) and Riskeeper. Prior to this, Daniel worked as the CTO at Business Score (YC S19), where he developed a number of products from the ground up and made all technical decisions for the business. He was also responsible for working closely with users and stakeholders to understand and implement their requirements. Daniel initially joined Business Score as a contractor to help with a product for their Y Combinator application, and after the business was accepted onto the S19 Y Combinator program, he joined the team on a permanent basis. Daniel also worked as the Tech Lead at Bulb, where he was responsible for enabling software engineers on his team to be as productive as possible. He was also responsible for the technical output of the team, discussing technical requirements with the rest of the company and onboarding new engineers into the team. During his time at Bulb, Daniel formed the basis of a new product pod focused on smart meters, which grew to a similar size as the member pod he led. Daniel holds a BSc in Computer Science from Northumbria University, where he studied from 2009 to 2013. He also completed his A-Levels in Maths, ICT, and History at Penistone Grammar School Sixth Form from 2007 to 2009 and his GCSEs at Penistone Grammar School from 2002 to 2007.
