Dave Trotter is a highly experienced Senior Big Data Engineer with over 25 years of relevant experience. He specializes in Big Data, Analytics, and AI technology solutions and has extensive experience in system software development with many database technologies. Dave is skilled in solution design and implementation of hybrid cloud infrastructures for data management and analytics. Currently, Dave is working at Ocient as a Senior Big Data Engineer. His role involves coordinating construction phase activity for public infrastructure such as streets, sewers, water mains, sidewalks, and traffic control. He reviews project construction plans during the design phase and provides technical solutions and revisions. Dave also creates and administers project databases related software programs, manages project data, plan, and miscellaneous hard files. Additionally, he prepares and edits GIS data for ArcGIS maps related to sidewalks and construction projects. Prior to joining Ocient, Dave worked at IBM as a Technical Sales - Data & AI Americas Technical Specialist and a Software Engineer. During his time at IBM, Dave gained experience in Open Source Databases, IBM Cloud Pak for Data, IBM Db2, IBM Db2 Analytics Accelerator for z/OS, IBM Data Virtualization Manager for z/OS, IBM Open Data Analytics for z/OS, IBM Watson Machine Learning for z/OS, R, Python, Java, and Scala. He also designed and implemented Operating System software on the IBM ISeries server, developed iSQL scalar function support for DB2 i Query Optimizer, optimized Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence, and conducted benchmark testing for large customer Data Warehouse and Analytic workloads. Dave has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Engineering and Physics from the University of Nebraska Lincoln, as well as a degree in Land Surveying from St. Cloud State University.
