Davide Giovanardi is a passionate and dedicated project leader with expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, and Machine Learning. He is currently working as a Machine Learning Engineer at Zoom where he is tackling NLP problems in active areas of research. Prior to this, he has worked as an engineering intern at JP Morgan, Intel and has also worked on research projects for Microsoft and Alpha Core Capital. Davide has earned an MS in Computational and Mathematical Engineering from Stanford University, ICME. During his time at Stanford, he built in-depth knowledge in artificial intelligence, deep learning, advanced programming, and machine learning theory and applications. His research on "Investigating Transferability in Pretrained Language Models" has been published in Findings of the Association for Computational Linguistics: EMNLP 2020 and presented at CoNLL 2020. He has been honored at Stanford University for outstanding academics and leadership with Zegna Founder's Scholarship 2019-20 and 2020-21. In addition to his academic achievements, Davide is also a successful water-sportsperson who has won multiple national championships as team captain in Canoe Sprint Kayaking. He is also a chess player in his spare time. Davide's educational background includes an MS in Quantitative Finance from the University of California, San Diego - Rady School of Management, a Certificate of Intensive Studies in Computer Science from Stanford University, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, Economics, and Management from LUISS Guido Carli University. He has also completed a Graduate Summer program in Managerial Finance from Harvard University and an Exchange Program from The University of Hong Kong. Davide's tech stack includes ML, Senior Software Engineer, Research Scientist, NLP, language models, and Deep Learning. With 2.53 years of relevant experience, he is currently working as a Tech Lead, MLE at Zoom and is passionate about continuing to make a meaningful impact in the field of AI and NLP.
