Deboleena Roy is a Research Scientist at Meta with over 6 years of relevant experience in the field of AI. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University under the guidance of Prof. Kaushik Roy. Her research revolves around Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) and Spiking Neural Networks (SNNs) for solving current AI challenges. Deboleena has worked on incremental learning, network quantization, and representation learning inside SNNs. She has also designed a multimodal SNN for audio to image conversion. Currently, she is working on evaluating the adversarial robustness of DNNs. Deboleena has prior experience in SoC front-end design as a Die Power Engineer for multiple SoC MSMs in Qualcomm, India. During her Ph.D., she has assisted multiple projects on Hardware-Algorithm Co-Design for neuromorphic computing. At present, she is working on generalization and adversarial robustness of DNNs. Deboleena has also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Purdue University, where she was the Principal Instructor for ECE 20700, an introductory laboratory course for sophomore students. She has also worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Facebook, where she was a part of the News Ecosystem and Relevance (NEAR) team. During her internship, she designed individual Machine Learning models for six different properties of News and validated the models against human labels. She also incorporated the new models into the existing News classification framework to improve the overall performance and reliability. Deboleena holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University, a B.Tech + M.Tech (Dual Degree) in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering, Microelectronics and VLSI Design from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and a 10+2 degree in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science from Delhi Public School. Deboleena has a strong tech stack that includes Research Scientist, Software Engineer, Neural Networks, ML, SQL, AI, Python, Mobile, PHP, Pytorch, Frontend, OpenCV, and Tensorflow. With her expertise in AI and experience in both academia and industry, she is a valuable asset to any organization.
