Deepak Joy Cheenath is a co-founder and product & people lead at Quizizz, an educational technology company that empowers teachers to engage and motivate their students. With over 11 years of relevant experience, Deepak is a software engineer at heart, with a passion for creating applications that empower and delight users. Deepak's focus on building technology to make learning more fun and engaging began in 2013, and in 2015 he co-founded Quizizz, which now serves over 70 million teachers and students around the world. Quizizz aims to be the OS for learning of every educator, providing them with a platform to create and deliver the most engaging learning experiences. Prior to Quizizz, Deepak was a co-founder of WizenWorld, a role-playing style game to learn middle school mathematics. The team behind WizenWorld pivoted to Quizizz in February 2015. Before that, Deepak worked as a Software Development Engineer at Amazon, where he worked on marketing activities targeted at Amazon Sellers, including SEO, UI design, A/B testing, and analytics, as well as Java and perl-based back-end web development, and HTML, Javascript, and CSS for front-end development. Deepak holds a M.Sc. (tech) in Information Systems from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, and has completed his 12th board CBSE from Delhi Public School, his 10th board ICSE from St. Mary's High School, Mt. Abu, and his 6th, 7th, and 8th class from Rachana School, Ahmedabad. He also attended 2nd to 6th grade at 32nd Street School, Los Angeles, and 1st and 2nd class at St. Columba's School, New Delhi. Deepak's tech stack includes software engineering, front-end and back-end development, UI design, and Javascript. He is a dedicated and passionate professional who is committed to building technology that empowers people and makes a positive impact on society.
