Deept Mahendiratta is a highly skilled and motivated individual with a passion for software engineering, programming, and system design. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science at UC Santa Barbara and has completed his undergraduate education from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee in 2018. With over 6 years of relevant experience, Deept has worked as a Software Development Engineer at Flipkart, a leading e-commerce company in India, where he managed and developed software systems that catered to millions of customers every day. He is proficient in coding in Java, Python, and Scala and has hands-on experience using various tools like MongoDB, Kafka, Hbase, and Spark to build highly scalable and distributed systems. As an individual contributor, Deept has built various homepage widgets on Flipkart app and website and developed the Flipkart survey and games platform, and a game console to power games on Flipkart through third-party vendors. He has also worked on various infra-level projects like dockerization of different services and their migration to Kubernetes. Additionally, he worked to migrate the key-value store data (~12 TB) used to store the gameplay data for various games to Hbase. Currently, Deept is working as a Teaching Assistant at UC Santa Barbara and is looking for a Software Development Engineering internship for Summer'22. He is proficient in various technologies like Software Engineering, Spark, Kubernetes, MongoDB, Kafka, infra, Python, Scala, and Java, and is always eager to learn more. Deept is a hardworking and dedicated individual who is always up for a challenge.
