Dennis Lin is a product-passionate Software Engineer with over 7 years of relevant experience in the industry. Currently working at Uber as a Software Engineer, Dennis is part of the Web Platform Team where he supports over 500 web applications on framework, build/test, CI/CD, and infrastructure tooling. He is also contributing to the next-generation web framework using Koa, V-DOMs, dependency injection, Webpack, and Flow. Prior to his current role, Dennis worked at Uber as a Software Engineer on the Driver Signup and Login, Driver Acquisition Team. Here, he architected the platform for high impact sign-up landing pages consolidation and A/B testings, created novel UI flows/components for security features, and led page performance studies and experiments with Navigation Timing API, CSS-in-JS solutions, code-splitting, among other things. He also customized and launched regional signup experiences, adapting regulation compliances. Before Uber, Dennis worked at Exabeam as a Software Engineer, building modularized product UI and enterprise front-end web application in Marionette/Backbone. He designed sophisticated interactive infographics such as broken-line chart on timelines with expandable details with D3.js, managed front-end style consistency in SASS/Compass, and architected efficient, defensible, and RESTful API in Scala Play, capable of identifying performance bottlenecks agilely. He also optimized front-end performance, made API improvements on CORS security concerns, and implemented customized body-parser for uploading files. Dennis holds an Advanced Software Engineering Immersive degree from Hack Reactor. He is an experienced Full-Stack software generalist, an early adopter, and an agile learner.
