Derek Huang is a seasoned product/program leader with over 18 years of relevant experience in the tech industry. He has collaborated with giants like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Sony, HTC, and LG to deliver 25+ launches of Android solutions and software services to millions of users in the US, EU, and LATAM markets. Derek is a data-conscious problem-solver who is passionate about improving user experience through tech innovations. He has a working knowledge of SQL, Python, and Mixpanel for data science projects and has an MBA from Michigan Ross. Derek is experienced in Agile/Scrum through Sprint planning process and has a down-to-earth mindset to get things done in a fast-paced environment. He has demonstrated success in teaming and leading cross-functional groups. Currently, Derek is a Senior Product Manager at Amazon where he is building Alexa AI systems with ML technology to improve voice targeting and developing Alexa on Prime Video clients to enable voice-forward video watching. In his previous role as a Senior Technical Product Manager at Walmart, Derek built scalable enterprise platform-as-a-Service and analytical solutions by integrating external APIs to support business needs. He also led data science/ML projects by defining data models and performed Exploratory Data Analysis using SQL/Python to conclude feature offerings. Derek has also worked as a Senior Product Manager - Partner Solution at Samba TV, an AdTech company providing TV audience insights along with OTT content. He integrated consumer applications into OEM partner platforms and launched services to millions of Android TVs. Derek developed a personalized viewing experience by researching exploratory data and designing UX A/B tests. He also defined and executed an international growth strategy into EU and LATAM countries and developed a certificate program while leading multiple engineering teams to implement features and pass QA certification.
