Devam Shah is a CIO and CISO with over 7 years of relevant experience. He is a co-founder of a bootstrapped company and has an MBA as well as a degree in computer engineering and cyber laws. Devam has a strong understanding of businesses, having practiced various businesses with his relatives during school vacations. He has a good understanding of how to bridge technologies with business and has saved more than 100 times for companies compared to what he has made. Devam is skilled in adopting new emerging technologies and syncing them with businesses. He believes that IT and security are business enablers rather than cost centers. He is also a fan of open source technologies and knows how, where, and when to balance between open source and paid products. Currently, Devam is the Head of Information Security at Great Learning, where he is responsible for uniformly implementing all infosec controls and aligning security with the company's 300 percent yearly growth targets. He is also responsible for risk management of acquisitions and partnerships, developing and putting ISMS in place, and adhering to various compliance standards like GDPR, CCPA, etc. Devam's vision is to have serverless architecture from the security, compliance, and finance point of view. Prior to Great Learning, Devam was the Co-Founder of ER Tech Pros, where he was responsible for business development, customer security technical team, marketing, sales, finance, and strategy. He was also the Chief Information Security Officer at Meditab Software, Inc., where he was responsible for mitigating external threats and resolving one very complex internal incident. He completed 11 projects during his tenure, including the implementation of Dev Sec Ops, deploying Firewall, IPS and WAF for inbound traffic, and automating 80+ PT use cases and 120+ SOC use cases by EUBA and SOAR. Devam's education includes a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Symbiosis Centre for Information Technology (SCIT), a Diploma in Law from Asian School of Cyber Laws, a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering from L.D College of Engineering, and a High School degree in Science from Sheth C.N. Vidyalaya. Devam's tech stack includes AI, Kubernetes, and ML.
