Devis Lucato is a Principal Software Engineer at Microsoft, currently working in the Office of the CTO. With over 13 years of relevant experience, he has a strong background in software engineering, AI, ML, and cloud computing. At Microsoft, Devis is responsible for investigating, prototyping, and incubating new ideas. He is currently working on accelerating AI applications research and incubation, as well as leading a set of AI/ML initiatives and MLOps incubations. He was also the tech lead for opensource Azure IoT solutions, IoT Reference Architecture, Device certification, Device simulations, and Third-Party solutions. He has worked with a diverse array of technology, including Java, C#, Node.js, Scala, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Cassandra, Kafka, Elastic Search, React, and AngularJS. Prior to joining Microsoft, Devis worked at BBC and iBuildings, where he served as a Senior Software Engineer and Technical Lead. At BBC, he worked on BBC Programmes & On Demand, BBC Programmes Commercial Availability, and HA solutions for BBC infrastructure supporting the 2012 Olympic Games in London and Queen Jubilee Concert. At iBuildings, he was the Dev team technical lead at Cable&Wireless (now Vodafone) and Cable&Wireless Communications, designing and developing new Customer Portal and SSO platform. He also provided remote and on-site solution engineering consultancy to companies based in the UK, Netherlands, and Italy. Devis is a research scientist and a tech enthusiast who is passionate about building innovative solutions that solve complex problems. He is highly skilled in software engineering, AI, ML, cloud computing, microservices, DevOps, and search. He is a quick learner and has excellent problem-solving skills, which enable him to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business needs.
